Do you comply with UK Health & Safety legislation?
Current UK Building Regulations require large uninterrupted areas of transparent glazing to be appropriately marked as such.
One method of doing this is with permanent manifestation window graphics which may take the form of broken or solid lines, pattern or company logos set at appropriate heights and intervals.
The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Act (1992) Regulation 14 states that “every window or other transparent or translucent surface in a wall, partition, door or gate should, where necessary for reasons of health or safety, be of a safety material or be protected against breakage; and be appropriately marked or incorporate features to make it apparent.”
Our safety window films are certified to BS EN12600 and can upgrade existing glazing to the appropriate standards in accordance with this legislation.

To comply with current UK Building Regulations, large uninterrupted areas of transparent glazing must be appropriately marked as such.
One method of doing this is with manifestation window graphics.
The standard solution is with 50mm dots or squares set in two rows. One row set between 800mm – 1000mm and one row set between 1400mm – 1600mm from finished floor level.
But why stop there? The options are endless with bespoke designs and company logos from our Frosted Series and Digital Print Graphics or decorative patterns from the 3M Fasara and VION Decor Series.

3M Ultra security window films are composed of alternating stacks of transparent polyester film and a strong acrylic adhesive. The high tensile strength and elongation at break properties, plus market-leading tear strength, significantly increase the resistance of the glazing system to impact.

Overview: 3M Safety Exterior Series
Panes of toughened (tempered) glass can shatter spontaneously years after installation. This phenomenon is known as Spontaneous Fracture or Spontaneous Glass Breakage.
It can sometimes be caused by an impurity in the glass known as a nickel sulphide (NiS) inclusion and is, fortunately, a rare event.
Toughened (tempered) glass is created by rapid cooling to set up tension on the skin or surface of the glass, which gives it its impact resistance. But this can cause a problem if NiS contamination is present.
An NiS stone inclusion shrinks more than the surrounding glass during the quench cooling process. This sudden quench catches the inclusion in its smaller, hot, Alpha phase, not giving it time to make its usual transition to the slightly larger, cold, Beta phase.
With further growth in size, as the phase change is completed, the surrounding glass is subjected to increasing tensile stress. There are many different compositions of NiS inclusion. The exact composition of a NiS inclusion is a factor in determining when the full expansion and possible breakage occur. It can take many months or even years or breakage may never happen at all.
3M Safety Exterior window films have been developed for use in areas where spontaneous breakage of toughened (tempered) glass would pose a risk. The safety film will hold the glass fragments together and, if required, can be combined with an edge retention system to keep the glass within the frame until the point at which it can be safely removed in one piece.

CX2 Sliding Grilles are the market-leading certified retractable grille for commercial properties.

Optiguard Security Screens use a unique extruded frame with a finely perforated sheet infill.
The screen provides a discreet, more attractive solution than some alternative means with an unobtrusive appearance at a distance. From inside the building, Optiguard screens resemble tinted glass but up close provide a strong visual and physical deterrent.
The mesh infill is constructed from 1.5mm galvanised steel sheets with fine 4mm diameter perforations and a 5mm pitch to give excellent light and visibility.
Anti-Burglar Bars provide a cost-effective, simple security barrier for windows in high-risk commercial situations.
The ‘no-weld’ design allows the bars to rotate through 360 degrees making sawing through almost impossible and they can be fitted vertically or horizontally depending upon the window opening.
